Chester Crowned ‘My Israel’ Quiz Champion in Australia Grade 6 Yavneh-Leibler College student, Joel Chester, has outplayed, outwitted and outlasted contestants from around the world to take out the international finals of the Mibereshit ‘My Israel Quiz’, brought to Australia and facilitated by the Zionist Federation of Australia as part of Israel’s 60th anniversary celebrations. Sam Mart of Masada College, the other Australian finalist, placed 4th .

Anahuac University Receives the Jerusalem Prize 2008 in Mexico The University received the Jerusalem Prize for its contribution of bringing the students closer to the Jewish Community in Mexico and Israel. Accepting the award for the University was Rector Padre Jesus Quirce.

Zionist Federation of England "links up" to Barzilai Medical Center for Yom Yerushalaim Celebration The meeting took place at the Edgware Masorti Shul which is twinned with Netzach Israel Masorti shul in Ashkelon.

Zionist Federation Brings Israeli Literature to Denmark A CD with excerpts, recorded in Danish, from novels by Israeli writers has been distributed by the Zionist Federation of Denmark.

Yom Ha'atzmaut in Porto Legre Brazil More than 7,000 people participated in a street party organized by the Zionist Federation, Porto Legre branch, in coordination with the local Jewish Community. There were also food stands, singers and performances by various groups.

Zionist Federation of Sweden Awards Jerusalem Prize 2008 The highlight of one of the many Yom Ha'atzmaut celebration in Sweden was the presentation of the Jerusalem Prize to Member of Parliament Annelie Enochson.

Yom Ha'atzmaut Celebration in Peru Seven hundred people took part in the community Yom Ha'atzmaut activities organized by the local Zionist Federation and Keren Hayesod. This was one of the community's biggest and most important events. There was folk dancing, communal singing and a performance by an Israeli army entertainment troupe.
